card edge repair and corner restoration Australia
Edges and corners take the most handling wear on any card. Border whitening, frayed edges, soft or rounded corners and top-edge dings are among the most common submissions, and they wear differently on dark-bordered cards than on white-bordered stock. What can be improved depends on whether the printed surface and paper are still there or already lost.
Photo assessment
Send photos first, build a portal submission, then post the card only when the scope makes sense. Every card is assessed edge by edge and corner by corner for realistic upside, grading risk and whether the value justifies treatment.
Why CardRevive
Edge and whitening work is scoped into the standard restoration tier, while corner correction is a flat add-on regardless of how many corners need it. The figures below come from the restoration price list and are quoted after assessment.
Per-card inspection fee before any edge or corner work is confirmed.
Flat add-on regardless of corner count. Each corner is individually assessed and corrected.
Standard restoration, A$25 per card minimum, covering edge and whitening work, quoted after assessment.
Services
Edge straightening realigns bent or uneven edges, and corner correction gently straightens and reinforces damaged corners without compromising the card structure. These are service-level descriptions, not repair guides.
The appearance of whitened edges may reduce on many cards. Where the paper or printed surface is already lost, it cannot be put back.
Rounded, soft or bumped corners may be straightened and reinforced without compromising the card structure. Corner correction is a flat A$20 add-on.
Localised dings and dents along an edge are assessed for how much of the pressure damage may lift and smooth. Deep dings may only partially improve.
Where paper, ink or foil is missing, the material cannot be put back, and some edge and corner damage will not improve at all. Those cards are declined at the A$10 inspection stage rather than worked on. Graders score edges and corners as condition subgrades themselves, and no grade is ever guaranteed.
Before and after
Bench photographs of the defects this page covers: whitening along a card back border and wear at a corner tip. Documented examples; they do not promise the same outcome for another card.

Process
Send front, back and angled-light photos through the portal or WhatsApp so whitening, fraying and corner wear are visible before assessment.
Once received, the card is checked under light and magnification, edge by edge and corner by corner, then scoped and quoted.
Approved edge and corner work is completed at the bench and recorded with before-and-after photos on the submission record, with grading options attached.
Often the appearance of edge whitening can be reduced, but not always removed. Edge whitening usually means the printed surface or the paper has already been lost, and lost paper, ink or foil cannot be put back without changing the card. We assess each edge and tell you what is realistic before quoting.
Corner correction is a flat A$20 add-on regardless of how many corners need work, and each corner is individually assessed. It sits on top of standard restoration, which is 5% of card value with a minimum of A$25 per card, and an A$10 inspection fee applies per card.
Rounded and soft corners can often be straightened and reinforced, and localised top-edge dings are assessed for how much of the pressure damage may lift. Severe wear where material is missing may only partially improve, and some damage cannot be improved at all; those cards are declined at the A$10 inspection stage rather than worked on. Graders make the final grading call, and we never guarantee a grade.
