Create a CGC account, confirm the exact card is eligible and select a current tier based on declared value, quantity and timing.

Complete CGC’s online submission form. For a direct international submission, follow CGC’s current shipping and customs instructions and remember that the submitter is responsible for import requirements.

Alternatively, submit through CardRevive’s Australian middleman route. The published A$40 starting rate is not a currency conversion of CGC’s direct US fee; it is a different service path.

Photograph the cards, package them to the chosen instructions and track the grading-company estimate separately from international transit and any CardRevive work.

Grading scale
What the grade means
CGC uses a 1–10 scale and no longer offers displayed subgrades. Its current top labels distinguish Pristine 10 from Gem Mint 10.
CGC Pristine 10
Reserved for cards CGC describes as virtually flawless, including perfect centring and no manufacturing or handling defects under its standard.
CGC Gem Mint 10
An overall 10 where one grading criterion does not meet the Pristine 10 requirements.
CGC Mint+ 9.5 / Mint 9
Near-top grades for cards with small condition or manufacturing limitations under the published scale.
CGC 1–8.5
Condition steps from Poor through Near Mint/Mint+, with more visible wear or defects as the number falls.
Restoration and grading prep
Screen the card before choosing a tier or treatment
A condition review can help match the card to CGC’s declared-value tier and identify whether a direct or Australian middleman path is sensible. It also helps avoid paying international costs for a card whose centring, corners, edges or surface cap the likely outcome.
Professional treatment may improve presentation, but it does not make a grade predictable. CGC uses technology and specialist examination to detect alterations and counterfeits, and CGC owns the final grade, designation or rejection decision. Any work should be disclosed honestly.

How much does CGC grading cost in Australia?
CGC’s live Economy tier was US$20 per card when checked on 9 August 2026, about A$28 at the RBA rate used on this page, before shipping, customs, taxes, insurance or membership choices. CardRevive’s separate middleman starting rate is A$40 per card.
Can I use CGC grading from Sydney?
Yes. Sydney collectors can follow CGC’s direct international process or use CardRevive’s Penshurst intake for its CGC middleman route. The grading-company estimate does not include transit or any restoration time.
What does a CGC Pristine 10 mean?
CGC reserves Pristine 10 for cards it describes as virtually flawless, including perfect centring and no manufacturing or handling defects under its published standard. CGC Gem Mint 10 is a separate grade where one criterion does not meet the Pristine requirement.
