trading card cleaning service Australia
Not every card needs full restoration. Many cards lose grading potential because of fingerprints, dust, wax, light residue, storage grime or handling marks sitting on top of the surface rather than damage set into the stock. Cleaning is the lightest bench service, and it works with the card's finish rather than against it: a glossy modern card, a foil parallel, a textured card and soft vintage stock each need a different, careful method. Card cleaning targets surface dust, fingerprints and light contamination without touching corners, edges or gloss, which is where restoration begins.
Photo assessment
Card cleaning is the lightest bench service. If a card only needs presentation help before grading, we avoid unnecessary repair work and keep the scope tight. Every card is still assessed individually, because the safe method for a glossy chrome card is not the safe method for a fragile vintage card, and pushing the wrong technique can do more harm than the grime it removes.
Why CardRevive
A card can look near-mint until angled light reveals grime, residue, pressure marks or surface drag. The goal is to improve presentation without pretending every flaw is fixable: cleaning lifts what sits on top of the surface, but it cannot rebuild edges, corners or a broken gloss, and we are clear about that line before any work starts.
Every card is assessed before any cleaning is confirmed.
Useful for low-scope cards where cleaning is enough on its own.
Submissions, photos and updates stay attached to the card record.
Services
Card-safe surface cleaning for TCG and sports cards: dust, fingerprints, residue, storage haze and surface mould reduced where the finish allows, matched to the card's finish, with an honest escalation path when cleaning alone is not enough.
Controlled cleaning of dust, fingerprints and residue on glossy modern cards and chrome sports cards, where the sealed finish tolerates a gentle pass.
Foil parallels, holo cards and textured stock scratch and trap grime differently, so they are cleaned with a lighter, finish-specific touch rather than a one-size method.
Older, softer cardboard absorbs moisture and marks easily, so vintage cards get the most cautious method and are assessed before anything touches the surface.
Surface mould, spotting and haze can often be reduced where the stock allows. Mould is a separate specialty repair, and aggressive home cleaning can spread it, so send the card as-is with photos rather than scrubbing it first.
If cleaning reveals dents, whitening or crease damage, we quote the repair separately before proceeding rather than folding it into the cleaning pass.
Process
We identify the card finish and whether the issue is surface contamination, card damage, a print defect or a grading-risk alteration, then choose the safe method for that stock.
The lightest suitable cleaning method is used first, matched to the finish; unnecessary aggressive work is avoided so the surface is never pushed harder than the grime requires.
After cleaning, the card can return to you or continue through our grading middleman workflow to PSA, BGS, PCG, ACE or CGC.
No. Cleaning is the lightest service and focuses on removable surface contamination that sits on top of the card. Restoration is broader and can include corners, edges, gloss, indents and creases when the card justifies the extra work. Cleaning stops where the damage moves from the surface into the stock, and we quote any repair separately.
Yes. A glossy chrome card, a foil parallel, a textured card and soft vintage stock each react differently, so the method is matched to the finish. The wrong technique on a delicate foil or an old paper card can cause more harm than the grime it was meant to remove, which is why every card is assessed before cleaning.
It can improve the card presentation before grading, especially where removable residue is being counted against the surface. No restoration or cleaning service can guarantee a grade, and any work is technically alteration, so the grading house makes its own call on every card.
Surface mould, spotting and haze can often be reduced where the stock allows, and it is handled as a separate specialty repair rather than a basic clean. Do not scrub or seal a mouldy card airtight before sending it, as aggressive home cleaning can spread the mould or damage the surface before we can assess it. Send it dry, as-is, with photos.
Yes, but cards are still assessed individually. Bulk cleaning makes the most sense when the cards have similar finishes and surface issues and realistic grading upside.
